Saturday, April 05, 2003 ( 4:02 PM ) Jacquet good news! (and more to pray about :-) ) i turned in another Starbucks application and actually talked to the store manager. he said that he will be calling all applicants in about two weeks and he'll call me too! if he doesn't, then i can call him. so now i've turned in two applications there (this certain store) and my sister in law goes there all the time, so she's always putting in a good word for me. oh yeah, he'll also get my OTHER application that the lady from the job fair will give him. all that to say, w00t w00t! maybe Starbucks yet? eh? keep praying! thank you soooo much! -jac #  Friday, April 04, 2003 ( 3:25 PM ) Jacquet ok, this is a email i sent to my bros, i figured i'd just post it, that'd be easier then typing the whole thing out, but i need to give you a lil background. like i said in my last post, i had a Starbucks interview and was all set in my new plan of attack to get hired there. then this lady calls and says she wants me to work at the deli or bakery at Safeway (a large grocery store, for those of you who don't have it in your states). And the interview for that was today. Whaaa! why couldn't it have been Starbucks that called. snif. kk, that should bring you up to the present... (email) Hullo all. Just a quick note to let you all know how the interview went. Well, it went great, the lady said that the reason she called me was because I was home schooled and home schoolers are much harder workers and have a better appreciation of life. I'm thinkin' "Ok, not *all* home schoolers, lady. heh". :) Anyway, she gave me the job right away (the deli one I mean), I was a little hesitate to take it cuz it's rather far away and she wanted to start me on harder training so I could open the whole deli by myself and said I would be working Sunday mornings. eck! She kind of put me between a hard spot and a rock, and not really knowing what to do or say I took it. Once we got home though I just didn't feel right AT ALL about taking the job. I even cried I was so confused and disappointed. So I called her answering machine and said I was really, really sorry, but I don't want the job. Lisa and I went out and got a grande caramel macchiato each. siigh. It helped sooth some of my frustration. (still sipping on it. ahhh.) The lady called later though and said she had another job for me because she thought I was a really great kid (lovely, is what I think she said actually) and wanted to give me a job. Sooo, the one she has for me is being a courtesy clerk at the Safeway right up here by us. woohoo. A much better deal, cuz really, working in that deli had a lot of stuff that probably would have been very overwhelming to me. (working the meat slicer, wrapping machine, taking huge orders, cleaning the *whole* place, and dishes and equipment, cooking tons and tons of food. ALL BY MYSELF! yeah. right up my ally, eh? :P) Not to mention that in order to get the job I would have to take computer tests and register tests and junk like that. Tests. *shudders* I suck at those things. So I probably would've failed anyway! So now I have the courtesy clerk job, she just called and gave me that one. And that is how things stand right now. :) Don't get me wrong, I still want to work at Starbucks, but at this point a job's a job. And I can keep trying for Starbucks later. Hey, this Safeway has a Starbucks in it, maybe I can work up to that. ttyl! Deanna :) (end of email) there it is peeps. the job of my dreams. whaaa. :-P oh well, gotta take the bad with the worst, right? heh heh. i'll let you know if any more comes of this. and if i get anything from Starbucks. (PRAY THAT I DO!) -jac #  Thursday, April 03, 2003 ( 6:12 PM ) Jacquet hey all. i had my 3rd and final interview with Starbucks today. why final? cuz they are closing the job fair here in WA. and probably won't be starting it up again for a while. anyhoo, it went great. the lady was super cool (and had the prettiest green eyes i've ever seen!) and said i answered everything "awesome". i SHOULD! i've only heard the same questions 3 times now! but, it's been great. PRAY to high heaven that i get the job, peeps. i need the money. well, like is said i answered everything "correctly", according to her (Jodie) anyway. like what do i think the baristas do? well, besides making coffee they have to keep everything clean and scrub bathrooms and be super attentive to the needs of the customers. i didn't say it quite like that, but close. man, i hope i hear something soon from them. hmm, i don't really wanna type out the whole experience, it's not that great. but i just wanna say it went well and PLEASE PRAY! we (my sister and i) also went out to eat with some long time friends of ours. that was fun. a lil on the boring side, but fun. :) (hey, lara. you know who this family is, btw. THAT family, ya know? picture and all that. heh.) lates! -jac #  ( 5:50 PM ) Jacquet happiness is... sipping a warm vanilla mocha. having a job interview go well watching the rain fall and walking in it getting a nice comment on your blog knowing some of your friends are doing *great* reading a Smallville book reading sweeeet letters to a marine learning a new song on guitar (emotionless) seeing friends on-line and loads more stuff. :) this is just a few for now. -jac #  Wednesday, April 02, 2003 ( 4:02 PM ) Jacquet 19. she's only 19 and was a POW. wooow. #  Tuesday, April 01, 2003 ( 5:11 PM ) Jacquet happy fools day to all. and on this wonderful day, on which we do nothing at all, (at least in our house) i'd like to leave you with this one quote.
