out of reference to something Lara said. >>Sometimes, though, I think it may be easier to stand up to your enemies than to stand up to your friends.<< hmm, how true and sad. anyway, got me to thinking and it also got me to write this sad little song. i know, i know, morbid and it's also to much like "Fighter", but oh well. trust me, in my head, it sounds NOTHING like "Fighter" sounds a lot like "Freedom Fighter". hee hee hee! *wink*

for your enemies

1a)
with friends like these,
who needs a little devil
sitting on your shoulder?

when your faith grows weak
and lights go dim
who needs that wiser brother?

1b)
and who said
surround yourself with friends?
and who needs
that kind of love in the end?

yeah.

c.)
it's not so weak to not be strong
it's not so hard to be alone
it's not to wrong to be so right
and in the end, in the end..
you know your strong
and you can thank your enemies.

2a)
when times get rough
and you get low
you count on your enemies.

the way is hard
and you seem alone,
but there's your enemies.

2b)
and who said,
you need that faithful friend?
and who needs,
someone with'em in the end?

yeah.

c.)
it's not so weak to not be strong
it's not to hard to be alone
it's not so wrong to be so right
and in the end, in the end..
you know your strong
and you can thank your enemies.

b.)
dark your paths and lost your trust
who really loves? it's give or bust.
true friends, but ya got better enemies.
it's easier to stand up for those you hate!

3a)
so are we true?
are we really hard?
will ya stand against your enemies?

life's way to short
so let burden down
and find a hope that frees.

3b)
and who said,
it can't get any worse?
and who needs,
to hear that kinda curse?

yeah.

it's not so weak to turn away
it's not to hard to hold your own.
it's not so wrong to be alright.
cuz in the end, in the end..
you know your strong
and you can thank you enemies.

tittle: Closed for Construction
band: Orange Paper

1.)
It's a hard, lonely place inside yourself
So why don't you let me in, why won't you let me in?
Can't heal your hurts from outside in
Let me be your friend, just let me be your friend.

chorus 1.)
Oh, take my hand and hold it, love
I can help you though
I'm not a wise girl, or super strong
But I can help you through,
I can help you through.

2.)
You're closing tight and not letting go
Just lean on me for support, oh let be your support
Your wounds won't heal from bitterness
Can I offer you comfort? Or share in all your hurts?

chorus 2.)
Oh, in my arms I'll hold you there
I can help you through
I'm not a brave girl or counsellor
But I can help you through
I can help you through

3.)
Don't close your eyes and let all die
There's sun behind that cloud, just beyond that cloud.
Please hang on for just a little more
I'm asking you to stay, please don't go away.

chorus 3.)
Oh, take my love and let it breath
I can help you through
I'm not a sweetheart or wicked cute
But I can help you through,
I can help you through.

bridge)
Please give me a chance!
Open up your heart
Don't close inside
Don't try to hide
I wanna help you!
I wanna help you!
I wanna help you through!

last chorus)
Oh. In my heart there's brokenness
I tried to help you through
I'm crying now and oh the hurt
But I can help you through
Yes I can help you through
I still can help you through.

in a perfect world every town would be Smallville. and everyone would have a superhero to save them. since it's not to be in reality, we dream of it in our sleep, but at the end of sleep is morning. so for now we dream.
